[Today's Lisa Zate Topic] Dividing Decisions- COVID-19 in NZ

Lockdowns had been around for about a month in NZ since late summer, with great results since then. The number of dead and infected people was suppressed, and the record of 0 infected people was kept for several weeks. However, in the meantime, the world was in danger of a secondary infection, and the number of infected people and deaths in populous countries continued to rise. And that time has come. Due to the ambiguity of the government's regulations on staff inspections by the border (Auckland International Airport), the infected have finally recurred. A cluster has sprung up from somewhere and  then new Infected people were found here and there. NZ's good record is over.

The second lockdown has begun. This time, the people seemed to be more accustomed to it than I expected, and many people performed STAY HOME without panic. But this time, it clearly hurt some people. The economy was of course stop again. For those who are in small business, it will be unbearable anymore. Some families who have small children are depend on tomorrow's life. Gradually, mask and lockdown opponents began to act in various parts of the country (Whangarei, Wellington, New Plymouth, Tauranga, Rotorua, Nelson, and Christchurch), and a demonstration was recently made in Auckland to walk around the city. (In NZ, if Aucklanders don't move, there is a big gap in hospitality and travel revenue in other suburbs.) "Exhausting to go along with tyranny and to forgo my freedom of speech and my freedom to associate"" "Fight for your rights and freedom. "The government and the media are real virus!" And so on, the anti-lockdown demonstrated against the current Prime Minister and her government's response. It was a demo of scream for them whose lives affected by this lockdown, and it was also a proof that not all the government reported to the media was rightly convinced and endorsed by the public.

Country-wide policies dealing with viruses that do not know where and how they are transmitted are no longer 100% supported. Now that it is before the election, the movement would have helped determine which party the next prime minister would be.

Our daily lives were persecuted by this virus all over the world. Our "normal" life has been robbed. Many have lost their jobs. Some have lost their healthy families. Each government will set regulations to protect the people and not increase the death toll. This is the first virus on a global scale. Since the government is unprecedented, many people are dissatisfied with the response. It is no longer a story that can be accepted by "ok,ok" according to all the people, . We can never go back to what we used to be, but we can't keep locking down every time an infected cluster comes out.

Today, the government decides whether to move from level 2.5 to the next level or not.
