[Today's Lisa Zate Topic] Good or Bad about "Telework"??
Needless to say, the number of people in the world whose work environment and conditions have changed drastically due to the influence of COVID-19 has increased dramatically. It's like a model that predicts the shape of the near future, it arrives so quickly to us. Don't you think it's wonderful that people don\t need to get up early in the morning and get on crowded trains and buses, and work at home using a PC? What a wonderful thing, don't you think? The merit is that vehicles commuting is reduced and exhaust gas is decreased. Vehicle accidents are reduced. and our general stress are reduced. If you have less chance to go out, you don't have to carry so much clothes and shoes. It's going to be a less things around you at home.
The era is moving to the next era already with the Internet. You can already make a paper contract on your PC. Members do not gather in one place for the meeting by paying the time and lease of the place, the cost of the company which can be reduced. Depending on the type of company, you can pay a high leasing and eliminate all the costs of copy machined, power, water, stationery, coffee and sugar. Could you have imagined that time would come so soon 10 years ago?
The company will be forced to improve its operations, which will be a good step. You can start to see all the waste, you can reduce costs, you don't have to bother to meet face to face, you don't have to worry about getting in the way, humming or smelling, so you can work. It may be faster. Also, since you don't have to worry about it, it's hard to change jobs, that is, the turnover rate will be improved. Since it saves time, we sometimes spend time with family or on our hobbies and favorite things. Since you can learn something new, I think that more and more people will become richer in content.
However, depending on how you spend that time, some people are good at it, while others quickly become lazy. It's all up to you to do everything about your schedule. After that, the chances of going out are greatly reduced, so you tend to lack exercise.
The problem with fewer people going out is that the economy slows down. If no one buys a cup of coffee in the morning, it will hurt sales, and if you don't use transportation, the number will decrease and the number of staff will decrease. Of course, teleworking in a word is impossible for on-site people, and it is difficult for people who run restaurants and cafes, especially those who run shops. The prosperity of drinking parties after work with your colleagues, talking about jobs and bosses, also lunch at those restaurant in a short time will be greatly reduced. If so, the world will be hugely change.
In any case, the times will change, good or bad, and the IT world will continue to make a leap forward, changing the internal and external situations of people. It will change our lives in no time. Also, five years later, the world must have changed dramatically.
Now, in the midst of that rapid transition, I think it's an opportunity to think about what we can do now, what we can do to live hard, whether we can tele-work or not.
Remember? Life is too short.
