[Today's Lisa Zate Topic] Today's Japanese News; Ah University Entrance Exams

The students are having a really difficult year. They can't do the usual events properly, and I really feel sorry because they've been deprived of the time and process of sharing with friends each other.

Next year's exam, that is, the center exam (official name; National Center Test for University Admissions), which had continued for 30 years since this year's examinees, will be changed to a new examination system and the purpose. I also took the center test as part of the university entrance exam long time ago. I went to the venue, Kyoto University, and passed through a building that looked like a science building, and sat down at a large venue that could accommodate about 100 people. I hadn't studied so much in the tension and quiet air, so I felt relieved even though I hadn't studied much, saying that it would probably be easy to finish. I still remember going out in the cold of winter as English, math and Japanese were taken in my subject for two days.

The center test is a common entrance test for Japanese universities. Until then, Japanese education was centered on memorization. In other words, the score is determined by how you can remember the question range before the test. It was obviously a momentary system that even if we didn't attend the classes, we could pass it with a textbook. Our grades were decided by the result of the temporary score, so it is very poor.

And this time, the "university admission common test" is newly introduced. The center test up to that point has been completed and will be held for the first time in January next year. Unlike the form that can be done only by memorization so far,

It seems that the establishment of a common test was decided to further evaluate not only "knowledge / skills" but also "thinking / judgment / expressiveness". In other words, "memorization" alone cannot get a good point. However, it is very interesting how to judge the "thinking skill" and "expressive skill".

The problem with this year is that the number of students who could participate in the class is not fixed depending on the prefecture, and the students who had to study for the exam in the situation where the online class may have caused such a failure. It's an equal condition.

It's a little more to go. I would like them to work hard and achieve the best results as a member of society who will carry Japan in the future.
