[Today's Lisa Zate Topic] Among the limited resources

That's right. AUCKLAND is running out of water right now. There is a regulation called Stage 1. Originally, KIWI has a custom of valuing water.
So compared to Japan, Japanese really use water. When I first came here, I encountered several times in various situations, "Oh, these people do this kind of thing here."
A typical example is when washing dishes. We store hot water in the kitchen sink, put detergent in it, wash it and let it dry.
Oh no, really? !! As you might think, that is the way to avoid using the much water. We use hot water as much as possible so we don't get sick.
When I was in Japan, I used to rinse, wash with detergent, and then wash away the detergent. I used three times as much water as I do now. It's not here. If the flat mates or owners who live with it see it, they will scream.
The price of water itself is not very high. But we should not think water is forever. It's not like if you pay for it .....
In the world, India, China, and USA, which have a large population, use the most water. According to 2017 statistics, Japan was ranked 9th out of 196 countries, and NZ was ranked 61st by the way.

This orange area is where the regulation is now. AUCKLAND is said to be 1.7m in the most populous area in NZ. Since the total population is 5m, it is no wonder that only Auckland has the water restrictions.
With the full-scale summer coming, especially young children will want to use the small pool at home, but this year they are likely to go to the beach more often. Fortunately Auckland has a lot of beautiful places.
Not just about water, we should always use the remaining resources carefully.
