[Today's Lisa Zate Topic] Make Tonkatsu!

Tonkatsu "Ton" is an abbreviation for pork, and "Katsu" is an abbreviation for cutlet (which appeared in the 1700s and is said to be American or Canadian food). Meat includes pork, chicken, veal, etc., and minced meat may be patty-like (; croquette).

In Japan, there are countless tonkatsu set meals, cutlet curry, croquette set meals, cutlet sandwiches, katsu-don, croquette burger, etc., and they are so popular that there are restaurants specializing in tonkatsu only.

Sprinkle the meat with flour or potato starch, then entangle it in the eggs, and finally cover it with bread crumbs and (panko) add it to the oil. It's very simple.

By the way, October 1st is Tonkatsu Day. Also, in Tokyo, October 10th is Tonkatsu Day, and there are places where sales are held.

So I made it too.

Using flour,

Ready to fry

After warming the oil, add it.

And it's done !!

It was easy to "make it" with Japanese mayonnaise and tonkatsu sauce on top!

Try!
