[Today's Lisa Zate Topic] Today's little story; Take a walk to Howick Saturday Market

Howick is about 30 minutes drive from Auckland CBD and is located in East Auckland. It is also a large area where many Chinese have begun to migrate from around the 1980s as NZ immigrants increase. And they gradually formed a community, and the population of about 6000 people is now doubled. It is also a popular place for locals and the elderly because it is far from the highway. It also has the advantage of having numerous beaches nearby.

The cityscape still has many European historical buildings and relics, and is said to be one of Auckland's most historically conscious places.
The Howick Village Market, which has been reopened due to the effects of lockdown, is held every Saturday from 8 am to 12 pm in the center of Howick.
When you step into the area, you will find a lot of lush vegetables that spread with a fresh green scent. And next to it, red tomatoes are lined up and shining to welcome you.

They even sell freshly picked oysters this morning. As you go deeper and deeper, live music is played lively. If you look around comfortably and slowly, you will find handmade baby items, accessories, candles, sheep fur items, and all-wood figurines, which are perfect souvenirs not only for locals but also for those who are about to return to Japan. There are only items that can be made.

As I went further while listening to the laughter of the children and the pleasant conversations of the people, I smelled something good. Bread.

Everything looks delicious. I bought a donut from it. It's also different from what you usually buy at supermarkets and donut shops.
Slowly move forward while tasting. Then I encountered an artistic store. All are handmade and warm looking.

They sell not only fresh vegetables and fruits, but also meat and cheese. It's not that big, so you won't get tired of seeing it no matter how many laps you make. Occasionally you can start to stop and chat with the people you meet, or you can have a coffee so you can take a break and watch the people passing by and eat something you are not familiar with.
There may be more things I overlooked or new, so I'll come back next week.
Even if you drive, there are plenty of parking lots, so it's a good idea to go to Howick on a sunny day as well as on the beach.
